Included a year spent on an Erasmus exchange in France, during which I dramatically improved my French, cooked 4 meals a day for 40 ravenous teenagers with no electricity or running water in the Alps over the course of 2 weeks, ate a lot of cheese, and met my husband.

    More medieval history: donations of lands and goods to English monasteries by the Norman nobility in the post-Conquest period, 1066-1112. But in French. Also included some Latin, some paleography, and my first forays into freelance translation.
