Emma in a few words

I worked as a Graphic Designer for the first 10 years of my career, skilled in digital and print creative solutions, then enjoyed six years of managing the UK operations of a Geneva based design Agency. Working directly between the account handlers and the graphic design / digital team, I made sure all work was to a high standard, meeting strict branding guidelines and meeting all deadlines. Clients included Medtronic, Dentsply, P&G and Givaudan.

Since then I have worked independently as a Graphic Designer once more, for multiple international clients, including local and international design agencies.

ETA Creative

Design Director  - As a freelancer

Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

January 2016 - Today (6 years and 10 months)

INL Agency

Graphic Designer / Traffic Manager

June 2010 - December 2015 (5 years and 6 months)

Liaising with the account executives I planned and managed design work through the creative team, overseeing the jobs and making sure they are on track and on time. I was responsible for making sure the designers hit all deadlines which are very often tight and urgent. Reacting very quickly to emails / video calls was an essential part of the job. The wide range of projects I handled included print, video and digital work for various multi-national companies. It was a deadline driven, very busy environment, which I ran extremely well. Most of INLs clients have very strict branding guidelines that I knew especially well and I was responsible of making sure all the designers adhered to them. In addition to managing, I still did a lot of design work for INL. I was also responsible for digital management and part of my role was to also to organise past work, backing it up to the clients FTP server and keeping our severs ordered and organised.

Worm Creative

Senior Graphic Designer

July 2007 - June 2010 (2 years and 11 months)

I worked as Senior Designer for a franchise for 3 years. I was able to use my design skills to produce an extensive range of work for a wide variety of clients whom I dealt with mainly face to face. I find having that direct contact helped a lot in understanding exactly what were the clients expectations. The type of work needed ranged from designer stores, beauticians and restaurants, to solicitors, churches and charities and many others asides. I was also responsible for delegating the work load to the small team of designers, matching each persons specific skill set to the jobs required, to get the best from the team and ensuring we hit deadlines. I also had to be able to check supplied work was fit for print. So knowledge of all design packages became necessary. I also learned a lot about the printing processes which made me a much more competent print designer.

Cameron Publishing

Graphic Designer

Gateshead, UK

July 2003 - June 2007 (3 years and 11 months)

During my time at Cameron Publishing I worked as a Graphic Designer on a range of projects including; corporate publications, regional and national business magazines, fashion magazines, hotel / bridal publications, newsletters and adverts. As an important member of a small and dedicated team I developed my layout and typography skills and became a confident flexible designer. It was a very fast paced environment where we produced a high volume of excellent quality work.

Having worked with Emma for many years now, I have no hesitations recommending her for your design needs. Emma is very professional, has amazing and innovative print and digital design capabilities and always delivers on brief and on time for clients big and small. We still collaborate on projects often and I will always turn to Emma for my own or my client's requirements, as I know I can rely on her to deliver time and time again. Whatever your design needs, you can rely on Emma to nail them.

Kelly Whelam - FPP design

I have worked with Emma in the past when I worked at INL 7 years ago and I currently use Emma for projects within my current role organising the Design teams at FPP. No matter the size of the project (anything from web banners to multi branded toolkits) Emma brings a can do attitude and positive outlook. Our Client teams love working with her, she's efficient and will offer solutions to problems along the way. She's worked on many of our well known client brands. Emma has a broad knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite of applications and can get up to speed with brand guidelines pretty quickly. She is an all round pleasure to work with.

Paul Gillett - Mighty Lime Limited

I have worked with Emma for a number of years and it is always a pleasure. She brings enthusiasm and precision to any project, and is eager to help from the smallest task to the largest. She has a wide knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and can turn her hand from a simple logo to a full corporate branding. Emma has worked on Blue Chip accounts and is very capable of following strict corporate guidelines but equally as capable creating something from nothing. I couldn't recommend Emma more.
