TCS Advertising

Artworker, Senior Artworker • Production Manager • Designer • Studio Manager

February 1996 - August 2010 (14 years and 6 months)

I worked at TCS, an HR communications and branding agency, for 14 years providing highly-creative work to clients as diverse as Orange and MI6. During that time I developed from an Artworker to a Studio Manager/Designer in a Creative Department that's received forty nominations and 14 awards over the last four years alone, including 2 RBAs, 2 CIPDs, 9 RADS and the CIPD Agency of the Year award 2010. In the Studio Manager role, I led a Production and Artworking Team of four, ran the traffic system for an agency with a multi-million pound turnover, and worked with the Creative Directors to help evolve TCS into the best digital agency in the industry. (After setting ourselves the goal of leading the industry in the digital arena in late 2007, we were all very proud to receive all three nominations for best microsite in the 2009 RAD awards.) The Studio Manager role at TCS was very hands on. My day-to-day job involved designing and building banners, html mailers, microsites and websites, as well as designing for print and undertaking production and artworking tasks. As the person who took ultimate responsibility for production, artworking and print buying at TCS, I was involved in some shape or form with nearly all of the award-winning work TCS has created over the past four years.

Red Pepper Advertising

Junior Artworker

August 1994 - January 1996 (1 year and 5 months)

Worked as a Junior in a small studio that produced TCS's typesetting and some of their creative work. This was where I really learned the ropes, and had to get quickly up to speed, having never used a Mac before. Obviously all the hard work paid off, as it wasn't long before TCS, impressed with my work, poached me to help them set up their first Production and Artworking Department.
