With a diverse background spanning over a decade in the electrical engineering field,
including substantial experience at Rapidus Consulting, I am confident in my ability to
contribute effectively to your team.
In my current role as a Freelance Consultant, I have been deeply involved in substation
protection, metering, SCADA design, and advanced network modeling using DigSilent. My
expertise spans steady-state and transient-state analysis, short-circuit studies, and
harmonic analysis. These technical proficiencies have enabled me to deliver innovative
solutions to complex power system challenges.
Previously, at Rapidus Consulting, I managed and oversaw electrical projects from
initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory
compliance. My responsibilities included tender preparation, risk assessment, stakeholder
coordination, and the commissioning of substation equipment. This experience honed my
ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects within scope, time, and budget
constraints.
My role at the Department of Health as a District Engineer further strengthened my
capabilities in infrastructure planning, maintenance, and stakeholder engagement. I
successfully oversaw upgrades for hospital and clinic buildings, managed district
infrastructure budgets, and collaborated with engineering consultants for project
approvals. These experiences enhanced my strategic planning and problem-solving skills,
allowing me to drive sustainable infrastructure improvements.
Additionally, my tenure at Eskom, both in the Transmission and Distribution divisions,
provided me with invaluable insights into power systems operations, protection schemes,
and network development. I gained hands-on experience in function testing, load
forecasting, and relay maintenance, along with proficiency in software tools like DigSILENT
and PowerGLF.
