2024 Highlights
In 2024, freelancers on Malt UK worked across diverse projects. Here are the top five areas where your expertise made a difference:
- Business Consulting
- Web & Graphic Design
- Communications
- Marketing
- Tech & Data
We know there’s still a way to go, but we’ve seen encouraging growth in several areas:
- Pharma: Work volume increased by 650% compared to 2023.
- Retail: Project volume grew by 100%.
- Energy, Industrials, and Utilities: Up by 120%.
- Private Equity, Financial, and Professional Services: 50% growth.
Our freelance network grew stronger in 2024:
- 25,000 freelancers are now part of the Malt community, with 7,000 new freelancers joining in 2024.
- 6,000 freelancers received at least one opportunity last year.
- We organised 24 community events, providing opportunities to connect, network, and learn.
We’ve introduced new product features to make freelancing simpler and more rewarding:
- Expense tracker: A handy tool to help you organise receipts and handle reimbursements with less hassle.
- Rate guidance: Get useful insights to set rates that are both fair and competitive.
- Profile optimisation: Easily update your profile using LinkedIn integration to keep it up-to-date.
Through our Business Referral Program, UK freelancers earned passive income by referring projects they couldn’t take on. This initiative generated nearly €1 million in turnover by the UK community, and freelancers received bonuses directly from Malt’s margin on these projects!
Don’t forget that by referring a project, you can earn up to 5% of the invoice value or 30% of Malt’s margin.
