About Basile

Greetings! 👋

I'm a Statistician/Data Scientist with a passion for unlocking insights from data and empowering businesses through statistical analysis. I currently lead projects and provide training and consulting services for various industries, including Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing. Proficient in English and French, I specialize in Statistical Quality Analysis, Designs of Experiments.

In addition to my role at Minitab, I've been working as a Freelancer in data science since January 2018. I leverage my skills in R, Python, SPSS, and GraphPad to undertake diverse projects, ranging from Medical Science and Biostatistics research to supporting financial services. I also provide valuable support to industries in the fields of Science and Pharmaceuticals.

Previously, I had the privilege of serving as the Lead Data Scientist in Digital Fraud at HSBC (UK) from February 2020 to January 2022. In this role, I was working on preventing digital fraud for HSBC's Customer Service, developing real-time fraud prevention programs using Python and SQL, and conducting data analysis using SAS.

My academic journey has been equally fulfilling. I earned my Ph.D. in Bayesian Statistics from the University of Sheffield, UK, where my research focused on MCMC procedures and Cointegration on multivariate financial time series. As a Statistics Adviser at the University of Sheffield, I developed resources and lectures in statistics, covering a wide range of topics from unsupervised and supervised techniques to Bayesian Statistics.

Before my PhD, I completed my Master of Engineering at INSA Rouen, France. The program emphasized Statistics and Computing. I gained there a solid foundation that has been instrumental throughout my career.

Feel free to connect with me for discussions on data science, statistics, or any exciting opportunities for collaboration! 📊✨
