I'm Brie, the founder and creator of Odd Swan Studio. I offer an odd blend of passion for design, partnered with enthusiasm for data and crafting the perfect presentation. After years working in CPG, I bring a deep understanding of the customer journey and data analytics. I understand that data is story-telling. Not everyone can engage with a spreadsheet, so data needs to be supported with visuals and insights in order to bring it to life. When I look at data, I first want to ground it in comparison; what are our % changes in a given period, what activities/approaches have influenced what we're seeing, and how do these figures relate to our targets? From there, I can draft a story which connects current data with historical reference and trend, contributing factors which impacted successes/opportunities, and necessary action items towards which the data points.

I conduct my data analysis in internal programs and Excel, but will always convert to a presentation before sharing with the team. I will select data points which best support the story being told, and create graphs to show the data in more visual formats. Any key data points should be broken out in bullet points, with practical insights to add perspective beyond numerical data.

Going beyond simply numbers and creating evidentiary stories allows the entire audience to grasp business concepts and the actionable steps the numbers highlight regarding future opportunities.
