Melis in a few words

I am interior and architectural designer with five years of work experience in London, New York, Houston, and Istanbul. I recently completed my master's degree at the Architectural Association and received my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees in the U.S. from Rice University. I began working as a freelance designer in London a few years ago and greatly enjoyed the interior projects I had the opportunity to work on. In addition to imagining the overall atmosphere and aesthetics of the space, I believe that a lot of the character of the space is constructed in details and smaller touches and components. Therefore I pay great attention to materials, textures, colors, details, and like to extend the scop of the project to furniture design or selection of art and objects that complete the space. Recent projects I have worked on are a deli/cafe in Belgravia, a holiday house in Portugal, pop up store in Regent Street, and exhibition at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale. In addition to being a designer, I have also worked on exhibitions and installations, as well as research and publication projects as an editor.
