Skill set
Anastasia in a few words
My name is Anastasia Korotkova and I am a native English translator, editor, and proofreader (from French and Spanish) based in the United Kingdom. I currently offer my linguistic services for general texts, as well as more specialised documents within the fields of social sciences, and education.

I hold an MA degree in Translation and Professional Language Skills and a BA degree in Modern Languages and European Studies (French and Spanish). During my MA studies, I worked with a large variety of texts and subjects, and I learnt how to produce written translations that were accurate and read clearly in English. I also did core modules in copy-editing and proofreading, which provided me with the skills to be able to ensure that a text is free of the smallest error or inconsistency, as well as edit a document according to very specific stylistic specifications. Furthermore, I was able to gain extensive experience in working with translation tools, such as memoQ, and carry out editing work on machine-translated texts.

In addition to my educational qualifications, I have carried out work within the language industry as a translator and editor, and as a project management intern, where I was given the opportunity to proofread finalised translations on subject matters such as marketing, tourism and technology. More recently, I have worked on projects as a content writer for an English-language school, and as a proofreader for a publishing company and an events agency. In addition to working as a freelance linguist, I also teach English as a foreign language to adults who are native French, Spanish and Russian speakers.
