Own the end-to-end user experience for the company's AI Chat — UI, BFF and backend — after the legacy chat (built two years prior) fell behind competitors and began losing users.
Rebuilt the chat from scratch to support a modern agentic experience including thinking states and tool use, partnering with the AI infrastructure team (RAG, LangChain, AWS Bedrock, OpenSearch; Claude Opus 4.8 & Sonnet 4.6).
Re-architected the chat into a standalone vertical monorepo deployed as a self-contained system (SCS) — mounted into the core product and reusable across future applications, decoupling delivery and enabling reuse.
Partnered closely with the Director of Engineering to take the SCS pattern from proof-of-concept to production as the first team to adopt it, and now advise other teams on integrating AI Chat into their own applications.

Core engineer re-platforming Customer Onboarding from a legacy JavaScript monolith to a React SPA + GraphQL BFF + Go microservices, owning the journey from landing page through to order placement.
Introduced a server-authoritative Basket model making the backend the source of truth for journey state — cutting
front-end complexity and offloading product-availability logic to the teams that owned it via API integration.
Led the remote appointment system end-to-end: replaced a fragile Covid-era feature that cloned full Redux state between clients with a Basket + Appointment subscription model (GraphQL Subscriptions over HTTP SSE),
eliminating state-sync bugs and complex diffing. Partners reported a markedly more responsive and intuitive experience for customers.
Led the team's delivery of the Ofcom-mandated Broadband One Touch Switching programme, coordinating across internal teams (notably Broadband) and engineers at a competing provider to deliver compliant inter-industry switching.
Added Go to my toolkit and quickly became the team's go-to for it.
