I’m Dafydd Ryan Jones but you can call me Daf.
I’m a freelance Senior Motion Designer and general video Swiss Army knife.
I’ve always wanted to spend my time making art and design and have gradually made the move from crayon to pen to installation art to digital art, social media and even TV. After graduating with my artsy degree, I moved to Berlin because that’s what you do when you have a fresh art degree. Somehow, this Wrexham lad (no, I don’t know Ryan Reynolds) ended up in a post-production suite at the world-famous Babelsberg Studio. After learning 16 different ways to say ‘the’, I worked in an all-German office designing DVD and Blu-Ray loading menus for release on the German-speaking market. Sadly, there are only so many years a man can live without proper cheese and onion crisps, so I headed back to the UK and started working in a design agency. I began to crave more variety so started out as a freelance video editor, motion designer and wrangler of many moving parts.
I love working as a freelancer on projects, focussing all my skills towards one goal and working with new briefs and new, unique insights from talented teams every time. I like swooping in with a fresh set of eyes and being given a nice tasty problem to solve.
