Ileana De Cristofaro

My native language is Italian and I graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures in 2003. Although my specialization is in Arabic language and literature, and German as second language in my study plan, during last years the other language I've been using most is English. I was employed at the Cultural Office of the Egyptian Embassy in Rome for many years until July 2021, when I decided to quit to completely dedicate myself to translations. Translation has always been part of my work experience, both inside my office job and outside of it, occasionally at first, until, as I said, I decided to make it my main profession. The languages I use most in my translation works (as well as revision, proofreading and MTPE projects) are English, Arabic and German. But i'm also facing translations of legal and general documents from Spanish to Italian.

Moreover, i've been participating (and still) in a big HT (Human Translation) project in the linguistic combinations English to Italian and German to Italian, and in MTPE project for the same company in the following language combinations: English to Italian, German to Italian, Spanish to Italian. Within the same project, I've been selected like Quality Assurance team member for checking translations completed by other linguists for the language combination English to Italian.

Summerizing, my translation language combinations are:

- German > Italian;

- Arabic > Italian;

- English > Italian;

- Spanish > Italian.
